Santosa-Retreat on Why Choose Yoga Methods Over Buddhist Method

In the 6th Century A.D india had a spirtual evolution 2 great men were born Buddha and Mahavir. Both preformed servere austerities and both preached non violence(Ahimsa)
Buddha s teaching “The 4 noble truths” 2 known now all over the world Vipassana and Anapanasti. Due to popularity Buddhas meditation became the main form of spirtual practice.Prepatory practice was ignored. Indians thought that meditation was infact the highest path but they disagreed on one thing – That one can start meditation immediatley -
Instead they beleaved that one had to prepare oneself first! 500 yrs or so later, Buddhas teachings were then known as phsychological experiences.

The system of “Hatha Yoga “was established. Before taking the practice of meditation preparation was to take place.
Self disipline should start with the body which is easier as Asana is disipline; Pranayama is disipline ,Kumbahaka is disipline ,sitting in padmasana for 15 mins is Self controll. The question was” why would you sit and fight with the mind first?” You have no power to wrestle the mind , yet you wrestle with it therefore creating a pattern of animosity to yourself.

There are not 2 minds one mind splitting itself into 2 One mind want to create disipline and the other wants to break the disipline When the split mind becomes greater we call it schizophrena. For this was realised by the great masters of yoga which was why they say to purify the body body first, the elements the channels the vital forces then once this is purified then one can move on to the Mudras,Pratyahara ,Dharana, Dhyana,Samadhi.

Santosa-Retreat on HYDROGEN PEROXIDE…..H2O2 and its uses

HYDROGEN PEROXIDE…..H2O2
We know about ……….vinegar and baking soda and now  the best kept secret is peroxide !! here are its uses…..

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and
hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe or shower.) No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

2. Let your toothbrushes soak a cup peroxide to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

5. fungus on feet – spray a 50/50 mixture
of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day.

7. Put two capfuls into a douche to prevent yeast infections.
even chronic yeast infections until try this once or twice a week.

8. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic systeml like bleach or most other disinfectants will

9. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture
whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill
the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into a tissue.

10. If you have a terrible toothache and can not get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

12.add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of
whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

13 use peroxide to clean mirrors;there is no smearing,

14. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide, put drops in the ear and nose to end colds, flu, chronic sinustis (including polyps], and infections.

15. Use as a vegetable wash or soak to kill bacteria and neutralizing chemicals

17. Disinfect your dishwasher or refrigerator.

18. Use it on trees and plants as a natural fungicide, insecticide, and as a weed killer

19. Clean with hydrogen peroxide when your house becomes a biohazard after its invaded by toxic mold, such as those with water damage.

20.Houseplants Grow Healthier
Mix up an ounce of hydrogen peroxide into a cup of water and spray your houseplants with this solution. It will help your houseplants grow greener and more lush.

21. Clear Up Skin Acne
Use a clean cotton ball to generously dab straight hydrogen peroxide onto skin acne two or three time a day. The peroxide will dry the problem up in no time at all!

22.Remove Waxy Build Up From Your Ears
Tilt your head and use an eye dropper to put three or four drops of hydrogen peroxide into the ear that has the waxy build up. Let it set for several minutes. Then, use a syringe and flush your ear out carefully with warm water. Dry your ear with a soft, clean cloth.

Throughout the world hydrogen peroxide is used instead of chlorine as a safer and eco-friendly municicpal water purifier. Some use H2O2 in pools
and spas.

Santosa Retreat Sayulita Mexico- Poem On Letting Go

LETTING GO TAKES LOVE

To let go does not mean to stop caring,

it means I can’t do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off,
it’s the realization I can’t control another. To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it’s to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it’s to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more
and
To let go and to let God, is to find peace !
Remember: The time to love is short

Santosa-Retreat ,Sayulita, Mexico – My Experience On A Retreat.

Shelley and I went away on a Yoga Retreat together over the course of the 4 days. Shelley and I made new friends together ,stripped of our original identities we became genuine with ourselves somehow we got to know the depths of one another .It was the teachers and fellow students, our new friends, that had brought this whole new experience to us.
We found that by successfully holding a pose,a new exhilaration was born. This exertion forced me to focus.

I learned that through the simple exercise of concentrating on my alignment and breathing, I could take my body and mind to unexplored areas . The taste in my tongue grew stronger infact all my senses where acute. Every now and then I would look over to Shelley during class the eye contact was enough for both of us to have spoken a whole chapter on the experience we were sharing. We were developing and deepening our capacity to find stillness and greater awareness. I began to call on a new out look on Life .Fear actually began to melt away; so did a surprising number of my expectations and judgments.
Inbetween our workshops we were Savoring Healthy fresh balanced foods now that our senses where stronger the food was more divine.
Pedicures and facials were a great way to melt all of life imprints. We were ready now to head back in to the world with cleaner stronger and healthier existence free of judgement and expectations.

Santosa Retreat on Krishnamurta

Thank you to Tracey for making me look this up this morning ..

” If you want to change the world, if you want to destroy the shadow that lies across it and make it healthy, pure and strong, you yourself must be strong; you yourself must be free from all fear of these things. That is what I want you to do. You must destroy those things which are false, unessential, which create superstition and chaos. And to do that, you yourself must be beyond the clutches of fear.”

“Again, you must be free from fear of convention, of what your neighbours say, which is rather difficult -much more difficult than freeing yourself from fear of gods. Conventions are made for weaklings and weaklings are produced by conventions.”

“You must be able to stand alone, indifferent to companionship, indifferent to loneliness, because they do not exist. For, if you are in love with Life, Life has no loneliness, has no companionship. IT IS.”

“It is as individuals that you must become centres of that dynamic energy which sweeps aside all the unessentials – as individuals, not as an organized body. If you as an individual are adamant about something because you know it to be true, then you will change the world. But you cannot change the world if you are yourself uncertain.”

“Order is necessary, complete, absolute, inward order and that is not possible if there is no virtue, and virtue is the natural outcome of freedom. But freedom is not doing what you want to do nor is it revolting against the established order, adopting a laissez faire attitude to life or becoming a hippy. Freedom comes into being only when we understand, not intellectually but actually, our every day life, our activity, our way of thought, the fact of our brutality, our callousness and indifference; it is to be actually in contact with our colossal selfishness.

“And to take such a journey we must travel light; we cannot be burdened with opinions, prejudices and conclusions – all that old furniture…forget all you know about yourself; forget all you have ever thought about yourself; we are going to start as if we knew nothing.”

Santosa-Retreat Sayulita Mexico on Alkaline Diet

Ever wondered why the heart never gets a cancer. The heart might get affected eventually by cancer of any other part of the body but we never hear of cancer of the heart. This is because the heart never gets cancer. Alkaline diet is perhaps the only permanent way to prevent and rid oneself of cancer.

Let us understand what causes cancer and how an alkaline diet can prevent it. Each cell in our body takes in oxygen, nutrients and glucose while throws out toxins. These cells are protected by the immune system. But as the body gets acidic the immune system gets overpowered by the toxins and the cell looses its capacity to take in oxygen and thus ferments. This cell gets cancer affected and is lost. The next question is can cancer be prevented and cured by consuming an alkaline diet. Cancer cells lie dormant in a ph of 7.4 but as the body gets alkalized higher and the ph level reaches 8.4 these malignant cells die off. So the answer to cancer lies in an extremely alkaline diet. When the alkaline diet will result in a high alkaline body ph the cancer cells cannot live in that environment and die off.

Cancer cells being anaerobic cannot live in oxygen. They can only thrive in very low oxygen conditions. When the ph of the body is maintained by consuming an alkaline diet the immune system of the body stays strong. This leads to the cells getting enough oxygen and discarding their toxin waste. Cancer will neither thrive nor take birth under such circumstances.

How does an alkaline diet prevent cancer? An alkaline diet leads to a high alkaline body ph. This high alkaline body ph results in alkaline tissues in the body. Alkaline tissues hold 20 times more oxygen than acidic tissues. Cancer cannot live in an oxygenated atmosphere. If the cells are oxygen rich they will prevent cancer. Therefore while an acidic tissue will be an ideal ground for cancer to develop as well as spread, an alkaline tissue will destroy a cancer cell. Having a lot of green vegetables and fruits along with alkaline water can save you from cancer. An alkaline diet requires one to eat foods that are high alkalizing while avoiding the acidifying foods.

An alkaline diet is very beneficial in fighting many diseases apart from cancer. Alkaline supplements are good ways to include alkaline food in your diet. Over cooking of vegetables leads to their nutrients being destroyed. Alkaline supplements make sure one gets enough alkalizing foods in a day. Also alkaline water is a good alternative to ordinary water. So if you want your body to be cancer free as well as healthy and energetic adopt an alkaline diet and make it your way of life.

Santosa-Retreat Sayulita on The 12hr Ayurveda Fast

So I was reading a yoga magazine and thought to put this up on my site.

According to ayurveda, the body is programmed to direct its energy toward cleansing and assimilation in the hours just before midnight, when agni (digestive fire) is weakest. To support this process, refrain from late-night snacks and go to bed around 10 p.m. By fasting for 12 hours every night—between dinner and breakfast (7 p.m. to 7 a.m., for example)—you free your body from the burdens of  late night meals.

It is wise to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning, eat your largest meal at noon , eat a lighter dinner as the sun lowering, and then allow your stomach to rest for 12 hours until the next day. This fast supports metabolism, normalizes weight, a

Santosa Retreat ,Sayulita ,Mexico on Supta konasana

From Halasana plough pose

Open your legs wide keeping your torso perpendicular to the floor and your legs fully extended. With your toes on the floor, lift your top thighs and tailbone toward the ceiling and draw your inner groins deep into the pelvis. Imagine that your torso is hanging from the height of your groins. Continue to draw your chin away from your sternum and soften your throat.

You can continue to press your hands against the back torso, pushing the back up toward the ceiling as you press the backs of the upper arms down, onto your support. Or you can release your hands away from your back and stretch the arms out behind you on the floor, opposite the legs. Clasp the hands and press the arms actively down on the support as you lift the thighs toward the ceiling.Close your legs together so you are in Halasana maintain the lift in the torso.

Halasana is usually performed after Sarvangasana for anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes. To exit the pose bring your hands onto your back again, lift back into Sarvangasana with an exhalation, then roll down onto your back, or simply roll out of the pose on an exhalation.
